Rabbi Blatt is a native New Yorker who grew up in the Bronx, where he attended public school, and received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Queens College. He continued his education in Philadelphia, where he attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in dentistry and then completed a General Practice Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. Although Rabbi Blatt practiced dentistry for a decade, his interest in the performing arts led him to a different career path. While still practicing dentistry in South Florida, he began to study theatre and music at the graduate school of Florida Altantic University. His studies in acting, directing, public speaking and music led to a Master of Fine Arts degree (M.F.A), followed by a doctorate degree from Michigan State University.

Following graduate school, Rabbi Blatt returned to New York City where he performed and directed throughout the Northeast, Florida, Michigan, and Kentucky. As his singing repertoire continued to expand, he found himself performing before Jewish audiences. An opportunity to study cantorial music with renowned Cantor Leon Berger of Brooklyn, led to four more years of training. Rabbi Blatt began to serve as a freelance cantor for synagogues in the Northeast and Florida. He continued his Jewish studies with the School of Sacred Music in Woodmere, NY and received his Cantorial Ordination.

Rabbi Blatt also taught a variety of liberal arts courses at Touro College and worked with grant programs to teach early elementary school children for the Metropolitan Opera Company and high school students for the Connecticut Grand Opera.

Rabbi Blatt went on to serve as the Cantor of Temple Beth Kodesh in Boynton Beach, FL for four years and became an Adjunct Professor of Theatre at Miami-Dade College. He continued to perform concerts and musical programs throughout South Florida.

Beginning in 2006, Rabbi Blatt continued his studies at the Rabbinical Academy. the Mesifta Adath Wolkowisk. On January 21, 2010, Dr. Blatt was hired by Congregation Shaara Tfille as their new spiritual leader. He was ordained by his mentor, Dr. Charles Agin, Rabbi, Dean of the Rabbinical Academy, in the spring of 2010 and was installed as the Rabbi of Congregation Shaara Tfille on October 2, 2010.
